The ransomware attack on the National Data Center some time ago was a reminder of the need to improve cyber security in Indonesia. The issuance of the Personal Data Protection Law is a significant step from the Government to make this happen. But if it is not accompanied by real steps to increase people's digital trust, this law will just be 'lipstick' or mere image.
